System of a Down (parfois abrégé en SOAD ou System) est un groupe de Metal alternatif américain formé en 19931 à Los Angeles, et composé entièrement de musiciens d'origine arménienne. Le groupe a réalisé 5 albums et en a vendu plus de 25 millions d'exemplaires dans le monde2. Ils ont été nommés à 4 Grammy Awards, et ils en gagnèrent un en 2006 dans la section "Best Hard Rock Performance". Le groupe qui s’était mis en pause le 13 août 2006, a annoncé le 28 novembre 2010, sur leur site internet leur réformation pour une série de concerts en Europe en juin 2011.
